New Delhi, November 18: Some media reports alleged that the Chinese PLA had used microwave arms on the line of actual control and forced Indian soldiers to retreat.
Representative picture
Jin Canrong, professor of international relations at Renmin University in Beijing, had said in the media that the PLA turned two strategic hills occupied by Indian soldiers into a microwave oven while firing targeted energy weapons on August 29.
He also claimed that Indian troops on the two hills were starting to vomit and were forced to withdraw. This enabled the Chinese to retake the positions without exchanging conventional fire.

However, the army said the claim is false. It is a false and ludicrous claim that is part of the ongoing psychological operations across the line. The PLA has not recovered from the shock of Indian troops occupying several Kailash Heights on the south bank of Pangong Tso-Chushul on August 29-30.
Tensions along the LAC in East Ladakh are high. The border dispute occurred in the seventh month. Both countries held various rounds of talks. There was some positive news last week, suggesting that both sides had developed a strategy to withdraw. Military commanders on both sides are expected to meet soon to discuss and respond to strategy.
